In The Yard – ITY38
Your camera does a lot more than what you typically use it for. I get stuck sometimes using the camera in a single, particular way and often neglect the additional functionality my camera offers. I think it limits my creativity. Of course, the battle in my head is always raging between “being a photographer” and “being creative”. You excel when you do both. I often forget that… 😦
There is an “Art” position on my mode selection dial. It allows me to select, and slightly customize, various art type effects that are immediately applied to the images that are captured. With my camera being mirrorless and my viewfinder totally electronic, I see the effect in the viewfinder as I compose the shot. This presents a lot more choices for me as I photograph a scene.
As the long time readers know, I love a good monochrome image. One of the “Art” choices is “Grainy B&W”. I can adjust the B&W treatment that is applied to the image via color filters, amount of contrast, etc. I setup this particular filter to align somewhat with my normal monochrome processing. Walking around the yard the other night allowed me to “get creative.” Very minimal extra processing applied to this image.
