Inspiration Point, Letchworth State Park
Letchworth State Park is big! The park is roughly 16 miles long. There are numerous areas to explore. Typically I like to be able to get close to the waterfalls but you can not deny the view from Inspiration Point. It is a spot along the gorge wall where you are looking up the Genesee River at Middle and Upper Falls. It is a beautiful scene. I am usually in the park very early for the morning light but one of these days I will have to capture this area at sunset.
We enjoyed our time there. I think we spent about half a day, maybe more. We were supposed to meet a friend later in the day and we kept calling her and postponing because we were still at this park. Thanks for sharing it with us. We didn’t go up to the point, I don’t think we knew it was there, or maybe we just ran out of time.
You can drive right past the parking area and not even know you are missing a great view. It is not an obvious stopping point.
